Christmas Card 2017

I have a lot of pictures of myself.

I actually love having my picture taken, since I was a little girl, I’d pose for a camera no problem. This is probably why Nursah and I’s relationship has flourished. She’s a photographer, I need photos and will let her snap away for hours if she’s willing, it just works.

One picture I have never had taken since Evelyn has been born, is a family photo.

It sounds silly, but Evelyn’s Dad and I broke up when I was ten weeks pregnant, that picture perfect family photo has always alluded me no matter how much I sometimes tried to force it.

Since Zach has moved in and I informed him, he can never move out, I thought this was the perfect time to include him in our annual Christmas Card, I just had no idea how much the photos would mean to me this time.

When I got them back from Nursah I was literally emotional for weeks, just looking at them. They were perfect. And not because our outfits are styled amazingly {they are}, or we look our best {everyone does but me}, but because this is my family.

My perfect little family, that I have yearned, longed and prayed for.

Zach was such a good sport during the photo shoot. Taking pictures in public with a dog and child I am pretty sure rates on his top list of things he does not enjoy doing, but he did it anyways because he knows how much it means to me. Swoon. He did luck out, much to his liking, I forgot my pair of matching pajamas, so I was forced to wear his and he was left out of the PJ pictures. I know he was so disappointed.

I love getting Christmas Cards. If you’re reading this and send a card, message me and I’ll send you my address because I want it next year! I just love checking in with families once a year vial snail mail. No matter how busy the season gets, I will always make time for Christmas Cards.

I should go back and find my family’s from growing up…. one has a dead deer hanging in it and we are all sporting head-to-toe denim, true story. Oh man, I may have to work on that post for next year, the Wernecke’s Christmas Cards were beyond epic over.

As always, I have to credit Nursah of Exact Moments Photography for capturing the most perfect photos that I will cherish forever as our first official family photo!

Hoping all of you had a Merry Christmas and are now sticking to those pesky {pounds} New Year’s Resolutions!
